Today’s Devotional Title:
Grace in the Chaos
2 Corinthians 12:9
“But he said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.”
We often think that God can only work when our lives are in order, our prayers are consistent, and our faith is on fire. But in fact, the opposite is true. God works most powerfully when we feel weak, tired, and incapable. His grace doesn’t wait for us to be strong first. He comes when we realize we need Him.
Paul asked for the “thorn” in his life to be removed. But God did not immediately remove the problem. God gave him something deeper: strength in the midst of weakness. This means that God does not always change the situation, but He always strengthens the heart. Chaos does not automatically disappear, but we are not alone in it.
Sometimes we are ashamed of the chaos in our own lives. We feel like failures, spiritually inadequate, left behind. But it is precisely at that point that the power of Christ can be felt the most. When we stop pretending to be strong and begin to lean fully on God, that is where grace works.
Grace in chaos means believing that God is still in control, even when we feel like we have lost control. Weakness is not the end of the story. It can be the place where God’s power shines most brightly in your life.
What To Do?
1. Honestly acknowledge the areas of your life that feel weak or chaotic.
2. Come to God without a mask, trusting that His grace is sufficient.
3. Allow God to work in the process, not just wait for the end result.
