Today’s Devotional Title:
God’s Validation > Ayang’s Validation

Galatians 1:10
“So, what now? Am I trying to win the approval of people, or of God? Am I trying to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I wouldn’t be a servant of Christ.”

Have you ever felt happier because of a sweet chat than because of a verse you read? Or felt that your day was “ruined” just because he didn’t reply to your message? Without realizing it, we can place our self-worth in the hands of others. It’s as if our self-esteem rises and falls depending on the attention we receive from our significant other.

In fact, if our sense of worth only exists when someone says “I love you,” that’s dangerous. We become easily compromised. Afraid of being left behind, afraid of not being accepted, we end up willing to lower our standards of faith just to keep the relationship going. Decisions born out of fear of loss usually cause us to lose ourselves.

Daniel gave a different example. He was young, far from home, surrounded by a culture that did not share his faith. He could have played it safe and gone with the flow to be accepted. But Daniel knew one thing: his identity was not determined by his environment, but by God. He chose to be faithful rather than popular. He chose to please God rather than be liked by everyone.

So before seeking validation from your partner, make sure you are secure in God’s validation. You are valuable not because someone chose you, but because God chose and loved you first. If your heart is full of His love, you will not be easily shaken just because you lack human attention.

What to Do?
1. Check Your Motives – Do things to please God, not to be accepted by people.
2. Fill Your Heart with the Word – Build your sense of worth from God, not from human validation.
3. Dare to Set Boundaries – Don’t compromise your faith to maintain relationships.
