Today’s devotional is titled:
God Knows Best
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.”
— Proverbs 3:5–6
Hi Rehobot Youth, not every prayer receives a “yes” answer. There are times when God allows things we hope for—including desired relationships—not to happen. We may have hoped, prayed, and envisioned a specific future, yet reality unfolds differently. That is often when our hearts ask, “Why didn’t God allow this to happen?”
We often view life only through the lens of our immediate desires, whereas God sees the entirety of our life’s journey. What seems good to us is not necessarily what is best according to God. Sometimes God says “no” not because He is indifferent, but because He is protecting us from something we do not yet understand.
The Bible teaches us not to rely on our own understanding. When a relationship doesn’t go as expected, God might be steering us toward a better plan, shaping our character, or preparing us for the right person and the right timing. What feels like a loss today might one day be something we are grateful for as an act of God’s protection.
Rehobot Youth, knowing the living God means learning to trust that His will is always better than our own plans. If God closes a door, it doesn’t mean your life has come to a halt. God holds your future in His hands, and He knows what is best for your life.
What to Do?
• Honestly surrender your disappointment to God in prayer.
• Learn to trust God even when you do not yet understand the reasons behind His answers.
• Focus on growing in God rather than remaining bound to the past.
