God Is Present
Joshua 24:15
But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.
Family is the first place we learn about love, respect, and the value of life. But we often forget that God’s presence in the midst of the family is a divine reality that makes relationships strong and full of peace. When God is present, home is not just a place to live, but a space for spiritual growth and real love.
In the film “The Chosen,” a series that portrays the life of Jesus and His disciples in a way that feels close to everyday life, one of the things highlighted is how Jesus’ presence brings real change to families and communities. God’s presence isn’t limited to places of worship, but is also found at the dinner table, in everyday conversations, and in relationships among family members.
As young people, we’re easily consumed by school, friends, or other activities, to the point of forgetting that family is the first place where we can experience God’s presence. When we learn to honor our parents, support one another, and pray together, we’re building a divine reality within our homes. That’s what makes relationships healthy and full of joy.
God’s presence in the family isn’t something mystical, but something real through daily attitudes: forgiving one another, supporting one another, and placing God at the center. From there, we learn that family isn’t just a place to live, but a space where God’s love can be experienced and shared.
What to Do?
• Set aside time for family prayer, even if brief, to place God at the center of your home.
• Show love through small acts: help, listen to, and value your parents and siblings.
• Learn to see your family as a place where God is present, not just a daily routine.
