God Is Near When We’re Hurt
Psalm 34:18
The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.
Rehobot Youth, there are moments when our hearts are truly broken. Not just ordinary sadness, but deep wounds—disappointment, abandonment, or feeling misunderstood. In times like these, we often feel alone, even feeling like God is far away.
But God’s Word says something different: precisely when we’re heartbroken, God is near. Not distant, not silent, but closer than we realize.
The world may tell us to quickly “move on,” pretend to be strong, or cover up the hurt. But God isn’t like that. He sees every tear, every pain you can’t explain. And He doesn’t just watch—He wants to save, restore, and strengthen.
Sometimes we wait for our hearts to heal before we come to God. Yet, it is precisely in this broken state that we need Him most. God doesn’t reject a broken heart—He draws near.
So if you’re hurting today, don’t run away. Just come to Him as you are. Because in the darkest places in your life, God is closest.
What To Do?
• Come to God as you are—no need to pretend to be strong.
• Share your hurt in prayer honestly.
• Trust that God is healing, even if you don’t feel it yet.
