Today’s reflection is titled:
God in the Ordinary Life
Deuteronomy 6:6–7
“These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.”
Hi, Rehobot Youth! Have you ever felt that spiritual life only happens during church services, fellowship gatherings, or quiet times? In reality, most of our lives are spent in ordinary routines—studying, working, exercising, chatting with family, hanging out with friends, or even while traveling. God wants to be present not only in moments we deem “spiritual” but also amidst the simplest activities.
Through Deuteronomy 6:6–7, God teaches that His Word should be part of our daily lives. The Israelites were instructed to talk about God’s Word when sitting at home, walking, lying down, and waking up. This means our relationship with God is not limited to specific places or times. God’s Word should shape the way we think, speak, make decisions, and go about our daily activities.
Rehobot Youth, spirituality is not something rigid or exclusive. A personal relationship with God is actually reflected in simple things: remaining honest when doing assignments, honoring parents, treating friends with love, using social media wisely, and staying grateful amidst a tiring routine. When God’s Word becomes part of our daily lives, we don’t just know the truth—we live it out.
Therefore, Rehobot Youth, do not seek God only on Sundays or when facing problems. Invite God into every part of your life, even in seemingly ordinary routines. When God’s Word becomes the foundation of your every step, your life will reflect the character of Christ wherever you are. True spirituality is not only evident at church but also in how we live our daily lives with God.
What To Do?
1. Start your day with God.
2. Involve God in your routines.
3. Live out God’s Word every day.
