Today’s devotional is titled:
Giving with the Heart
Mark 12:43-44
“Truly I tell you, this poor widow has put more into the treasury than all the others. They all gave out of their wealth; but she, out of her poverty, put in everything, all she had to live on.”
Today is Sunday. Bima went to church with his father and mother.
Since their house is in the village, they walked together.
“Here are three coins for you,” said Mother.
Bima was so happy! He put the coins into his pocket.
“One, two, three!” he said while counting.
At church, there was a big wooden offering box. Many people were putting money into it.
Suddenly, a rich man came. He wore nice clothes and put in a lot of money. It made a loud sound! Cling! Clang! Cling!
“Wow!” Bima was surprised.
Then came an old grandmother. She only had two small coins. Ting… ting… the sound was soft.
Bima asked, “Why did Grandma only give two coins?”
Mother smiled and answered, “God doesn’t look at the amount, Son.
God looks at the sincere heart. That grandmother gave everything she had.”
Bima smiled. Now he understood. He walked to the box and put in his three coins. “ting… cling… clang…”
