Today’s devotional is titled:
Giving the Best
Luke 7:47
“Therefore, I tell you, her many sins have been forgiven—as her great love has shown. But whoever has been forgiven little loves little.”
One afternoon, Sinta sat in the corner of her room, staring at her little bottle of favorite perfume. “If I use it, it will run out quickly,” she thought. But then she remembered the Bible story about a woman who bravely anointed Jesus’ feet with expensive perfume and her tears. Sinta thought, “She dared to give what was most precious, even though many people looked down on her.”
The next day, Sinta decided to use just a little of the perfume and saved some to give to her mother. When she handed it over, she said, “This is a gift from me, Mom.” Her mother hugged Sinta with deep gratitude.
Truth Kids friends, that sinful woman knew that only Jesus could forgive her. That’s why she gave with great love—a love born from a heart that had been forgiven. We can also learn that when our hearts are filled with Jesus’ love, we will dare to give our very best. Not to be seen by others, but because we love the Lord. Great love always comes from a heart that is close to Jesus.
