Today’s devotion is titled:
Giving or Hoarding

By all these things, i have shown you that by working in this way we must help the weak,” – Act 20:35b.

In this verse, Paul teaches a beautiful secret: that giving brings happiness. Not because we lose out, but because we experience a deeper joy, a joy that comes from God Himself. When we give, we become channels of God’s blessings for others. Our wallets may be lighter in terms of numbers, but our hearts become richer with joy, peace, and satisfaction.

On the contrary, when we only hoard for ourselves, we will feel empty. We buy this and that, but are never satisfied. We always want more. This is called the “spirit of consumerism,” never feeling satisfied and always thirsting for new things.

God does not measure our lives by how much we accumulate, but by how much we share. Just look, no one’s tombstone says, “He accumulated a lot of money.” What is remembered is, “He was generous and helpful.”
Our money is a trust from God. Every dollar in your wallet actually belongs to God, entrusted to us to manage.

Remember, we brought nothing when we were born, and we will take nothing when we die. All that remains is the legacy of kindness we leave behind in the world.

What To Do:
1. Start to have a crisis of helping others when they need us.
2. Let us give with joy, not reluctantly or under compulsion.
3. Remember to always pray to have a generous heart according to God’s wisdom.
