Today’s devotional is titled:
Giving from the Heart
Luke 21:4
“All these people gave their gifts out of their wealth; but she out of her poverty put in all she had to live on.”
“I only have two thousand rupiah, Mom. I’m embarrassed to give that little to the offering box,” said Niko, looking down. “But that’s my allowance for this week,” he added softly.
Mom smiled and hugged Niko. “Niko, God doesn’t look at how big or small your money is. God looks at your heart when you give.”
Finally, Niko put his money into the church offering box with a little smile.
On the way home from church, Niko said, “It actually feels good, Mom, to give from the heart.”
Mom nodded. “That’s exactly what God loves, Son.”
Truth Kids friends, God is more pleased when we give sincerely, even if it’s small, than when we give a lot with pride. God looks at our hearts, not the amount. Every gift from the heart is precious and becomes part of God’s love for others. God is surely pleased when He sees our hearts willing to share.
