Throughout life, we will face countless choices that must be made. Each option brings its own difficulties, obstacles, and challenges that we must confront. Even when we successfully overcome one stage of life, it doesn’t mean everything is complete—there will always be new struggles, new barriers, and new challenges to face. Yet, if we can face each of them wisely and choose the right path at every crossroads, we will grow into a person far greater than we ever dreamed.
Life as a human being offers many choices, but that doesn’t mean we can take them all at once. God has given us the freedom to choose so that we may direct our lives according to His will. Every decision we make should be based on priorities and purposes that benefit ourselves and our future. The choices we live out are not the choices of others. It is our life to live, while others can only observe and compare. Whatever decisions we make, they are our sacred right as individuals who are accountable before God.
Therefore, every choice must be made with firmness and responsibility, so that others’ negative opinions do not easily shake our decisions. It must be acknowledged that when we choose a path that differs from the one most people take, opposition will arise. However, as long as our decisions do not violate morality or God’s Word, we must not be afraid to move forward. Put God first in every life decision, and remember: no matter the circumstance, God is only a prayer away.
We need to reflect—are we living by faith, or merely relying on our own reasoning? Too often, we forget that we are limited beings, acting instead as if we can control everything by our own strength. We focus on self-satisfaction and family comfort, often forgetting that God is the center of life. Yet, in every circumstance—whether in joy or sorrow—there is always a choice: to stay silent and do nothing, or to act and do what is right.
Looking ahead, life in this world is growing increasingly complex. Ongoing economic crises, recurring natural disasters, and constant uncertainty cause many to lose hope. There are no options left except to live in hardship. But amid all the chaos, we often forget that we come from the Almighty God—the only trustworthy source of refuge and help in every situation.
When we do good, some people may judge us harshly—thinking we seek praise or meddle in others’ affairs. Yet as we grow in spiritual maturity, we realize that every good deed must be done solely for the glory of God. That is the life choice of a believer: to radiate God’s light and love. As written in Luke 6:31, “Do to others as you would have them do to you.”
Therefore, when we face situations that seem hopeless—when all our efforts have failed to bring change—let us look through the eyes of faith. Too often, we focus on a closed door and fail to see another that God has already opened for us. If we choose to bear fruit and please God’s heart, then there is only one path: abide in Christ. Apart from Christ, we can do nothing.
May we, from this day onward, no longer choose wrongly—but always choose to remain in Christ, guided by the Holy Spirit, living in compassion, and continually doing what is just and proper.
