Today’s Devotional Title:
Forgiving Others
Acts 7:59–60
While they were stoning him, Stephen prayed, “Lord Jesus, receive my spirit.” Then he fell on his knees and cried out, “Lord, do not hold this sin against them.” When he had said this, he fell asleep.
Truth Kids friends, even long ago, there were people who were treated unfairly — some were bullied, others were even hurt physically. Of course, that must have felt painful and unfair, and maybe made them want to fight back. But the Bible gives us an amazing example through Stephen, a hero of faith who chose to pray for those who hurt him.
Stephen was faithful and brave in sharing the truth about Jesus. Even when people threw stones at him until he died, Stephen didn’t get angry. Instead, he prayed that God would forgive those who attacked him. That shows a heart full of love and strong faith in God.
Truth Kids friends, from Stephen’s story, we learn to keep trusting God even when people treat us badly or unfairly. God wants us to pray for others, forgive them, and not repay evil with evil.
Let’s be children who are full of love and faith like Stephen.
Pray for those who hurt you, keep doing what’s right, and trust that God sees and is always with His faithful children!
