Forgiving Like Christ

Ephesians 4:32
“Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God in Christ forgave you.”

We often imagine forgiveness as a one-time decision. But in real life, forgiving is often a choice we must make repeatedly. Wounds can resurface, and feelings don’t always heal immediately.

God’s Word teaches that forgiveness is not just a feeling, but a way of life. To forgive means choosing not to hold onto bitterness, even while our hearts are still being healed by God.

God has already forgiven us through Christ, not because we deserve it, but because of His love. From this, we learn to forgive others—not by our own strength, but with God’s help.

Forgiving means choosing love over anger. Though it is not easy, as we continually surrender our wounds to God, our hearts are gradually healed and filled with peace.

What To Do?
• Accept that forgiveness can be a process, not a one-time decision.
• When old wounds resurface, bring those feelings to God in prayer.
• Remember how Christ has already forgiven you.
