Forgiving

“Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.” – Colossians 3:13

Andy and Linda were studying together in their study room at home. They both looked very focused. Andy was working on a school project, carefully arranging small cubes to build a model house with a playground. Meanwhile, Linda was also busy with her schoolwork.

After finishing her homework, Linda began tidying up her things from the desk. Suddenly… “Ahhhh!!!” Andy shouted in shock.

What happened? Linda had accidentally spilled water all over Andy’s project.

“Lindaaa!!” Andy cried out angrily, upset that his project was now wet. Linda was shocked too, and quickly apologized.

“I’m so sorry, Andy. I didn’t mean to spill the water.”

But Andy was still upset and ran to his room. Linda felt very sad. She looked at the damaged project and, with a heavy heart, grabbed a cloth to clean up the water. As she wiped it carefully, she prayed that Andy would stop being angry and forgive her.

In his room, Andy was also trying to calm his heart. He was disappointed that his project wasn’t perfect anymore. Then he remembered a Bible verse he had heard at church: “Forgive as the Lord forgave you.”

This reminded Andy to let go of his anger. He walked back to the study room and found Linda still cleaning his project. “I forgive you,” he said gently. He also apologized for overreacting, and the two of them forgave each other.

Truth Juniors, we too must learn to forgive when someone makes a mistake against us. Forgiveness makes our hearts lighter and brings peace, just like the forgiveness Jesus has given us.
