Today’s reflection is titled:
Forgive to Be Free

Ephesians 4:31–32
“Get rid of all bitterness, rage, and anger… but be kind to one another, full of compassion and forgiving one another…”

Rehobot Youth, forgiving doesn’t always feel good right away. Sometimes the heart still hurts, disappointment lingers, and the memory is still vivid. But it’s important for us to understand: forgiveness isn’t about how we feel first, but a decision.

Many people wait, thinking, “I’ll forgive later, once the pain is gone.” Yet it is precisely by choosing to forgive that our hearts begin to heal little by little. Forgiving doesn’t mean condoning someone else’s wrongdoing, but freeing ourselves from the burden of bitterness.

If we keep holding onto the wound, it’s not the other person who is imprisoned—but ourselves. But when we choose to forgive, even if we aren’t fully healed yet, we’re opening the way for God to heal our hearts.

Forgiving a friend isn’t easy, especially when the wound runs deep. But remember, we also live by God’s forgiveness every day. When we forgive, we’re reflecting the heart of Christ and making room for His peace to work in our lives.

What To Do?
• Choose to forgive, even if your feelings haven’t fully healed.
• Surrender your wounds and emotions to God in prayer.
• Let go of bitterness, so your heart can be truly free.
