Faithfulness That Shaped History
“But Ruth replied, ‘Don’t urge me to leave you or to turn back from you. Where you go I will go…'” – Ruth 1:16
Imagine being Ruth. You’ve lost your husband, your future feels uncertain, and the only person left is your grieving mother-in-law. You could go back to your hometown, start fresh, or… stay.
Ruth chose to stay. She said to Naomi, “Where you go, I will go.” No backup plan. No guarantees. Just quiet loyalty and bold love.
Jesus was also born in a place that didn’t look promising—a manger. But from that humble beginning, He brought salvation to the world. Ruth didn’t go viral, but God saw her. And because of her faithfulness, she became part of Jesus’ family line. From a quiet field to the heart of redemption history.
So if you’re wondering what Jesus wants for His birthday, maybe it’s not a big party or flashy worship. Maybe it’s a heart like Ruth’s—faithful, present, and willing to walk the hard road.
✅ What to Do?
1. Do one act of quiet faithfulness today. Help your parents without being asked, support a friend who’s struggling, or follow through on a small promise.
2. Write this in your notes or journal: “Small faithfulness can shape big stories.” Read it each morning this week to remind yourself that God honors hearts that stay.
