Faithful to the End

John 19:26–27
“When Jesus saw His mother there, and the disciple whom He loved standing nearby, He said to her, ‘Woman, here is your son,’ and to the disciple, ‘Here is your mother.’ From that time on, this disciple took her into his home.”

Truth Junior Friends, have you ever had a friend who stayed by your side even when you were sad or going through a hard time? That kind of friend is truly special, right? In the Bible, we can find a wonderful example of loyalty like that in John, one of Jesus’s disciples.

When many people were afraid and left Jesus during His crucifixion, John stayed near the cross. He didn’t run away or hide, even though it was a difficult and scary moment. In the middle of His suffering, Jesus saw John standing beside His mother, Mary. Then Jesus told John to take care of Mary as if she were his own mother. That shows how much Jesus trusted John.

From this story, we learn that true faith in Jesus makes us faithful until the end. John stayed close not because it was easy, but because he loved Jesus with all his heart.

We can also show our faithfulness to God in small ways—by praying even when we feel sad, doing good even when others don’t, or helping our parents without being told. God delights in children who stay faithful like John. A strong faith keeps us close to Jesus, no matter what happens.
