Today’s devotional is titled:
Faithful Like Mary Magdalene
John 20:16
“Jesus said to her, ‘Mary.’ She turned toward him and cried out in Aramaic, ‘Rabboni!’ (which means Teacher).”
In a flower garden, there was a little butterfly named Lala. Every morning, Lala always came to the same flower, even though her friends had gone to play somewhere else. One day, the flower withered, and Lala felt very sad. She wondered, “Why am I still here?” But Lala remained faithfully waiting. Suddenly, warm sunlight shone on the flower, and slowly it bloomed beautifully again. Lala became the first butterfly to see that miracle!
Truth Kids friends, Lala’s story is similar to Mary Magdalene. Even though she was sad at Jesus’ tomb, she stayed and remained faithful. Because of her faithfulness, Jesus called her by name, and she became the very first witness of His resurrection. Amazing, right?
From Mary, we learn that faithfulness to God brings great joy. Let’s also be faithful in prayer, diligent in reading the Word, and not give up easily. God surely sees a faithful heart and will give His joy!
