Faith Is Not the Same as Motivation
“But the righteous will live by his faith.” – Habakkuk 2:4b
You may have thought, “When I feel motivated, that means my faith is strong.” But when boredom, fatigue, or a lack of drive kicks in, you start to wonder, “Is my faith growing weak?”
Be careful — motivation and faith are two different things. Motivation fluctuates, but faith can stand firm. Motivation is fueled by emotion, faith is upheld by truth. Motivation fades on hard days, but faith can keep burning because it’s rooted in God’s promises, not in feelings.
Remember Noah? He built the ark for years without seeing a drop of rain. No applause. No instant validation. But because he believed, he obeyed. That wasn’t motivation — that was real faith.
What to Do:
Ask yourself today: Do I only stay motivated when I see results? Train yourself to keep walking with God, even when your emotions feel flat.
