Faith by the Riverside

Acts 16:14–15
One of those listening was a woman from the city of Thyatira named Lydia, a dealer in purple cloth. She was a worshiper of God. The Lord opened her heart to respond to Paul’s message. When she and the members of her household were baptized, she invited us to her home. “If you consider me a believer in the Lord,” she said, “come and stay at my house.” And she persuaded us.

Hello, Truth Junior friends!
Today we’re going to learn about a remarkable woman named Lydia. She was a successful businesswoman who sold purple cloth. Back then, purple fabric was very expensive—only the wealthy could afford it. Yes, Lydia was wealthy, but more importantly, she feared God and lived a good life.

One day, Lydia went to the riverside, a place where people usually gathered to pray. There, she met Paul and his companions. They began to share about Jesus. Lydia listened carefully, but it wasn’t just her ears that were open—her heart was touched by God. Right there, by the riverside, faith began to grow in her heart.

Lydia didn’t just believe in God; she also acted on her faith. She was baptized, opened her home as a meeting place for believers, and joined in serving alongside Paul’s friends. Amazing, isn’t it?

Truth Junior friends, God can speak to us through the Bible, through other people, and even through many things ini everyday. Each day we hear many voices—through social media, friends, or things that tempt us to look cool. But like Lydia, let’s learn to open our hearts to God’s voice, listen carefully, and be a blessing to others!
