Eye-Opener

“Rejoice always. Pray continually. Give thanks in all circumstances.”
📖 1 Thessalonians 5:16–18

Guys, this verse often sounds simple, but honestly… it’s hard to live out.
Give thanks in all circumstances? Even when life isn’t going according to plan?

The problem is, we often use our circumstances as the measure of our self-worth. When life is smooth, we feel, “I’m doing fine.” But when we fail, get rejected, or feel disappointed, our identity crashes with it. We start thinking, “Maybe I’m not good enough.”

But God has never defined us by our situation.
Gratitude helps us return to that truth. When we keep giving thanks, we’re saying:
“I may not see the way out yet, but I know who my God is—and I know who I am in Him.”

Gratitude isn’t closing our eyes to reality. Gratitude actually opens our eyes to the fact that our worth doesn’t change even when our circumstances haven’t changed yet. We are still loved. Still chosen. Still valuable.

And from that restored identity, we can stand again—not because the problem is gone, but because our hearts have been strengthened.

So if today you’re still in a “not yet” season, don’t let your circumstances steal who you are.
Gratitude isn’t an escape—it’s a reminder of your identity.

What To Do:
1. When things don’t meet your expectations, give thanks as a declaration of faith, not a feeling.
2. Write down one thing about you that God never changes.
3. Reject thoughts that define you by failure or your current condition.
