Consistent Prayer

Daniel 6:10
“Now when Daniel learned that the decree had been published, he went home to his upstairs room where the windows opened toward Jerusalem. Three times a day he got down on his knees and prayed, giving thanks to his God, just as he had done before.”

Hi, Rehobot Youth! Many people desire strong faith, yet not everyone is willing to undergo the process that shapes it. We often hope to remain calm when facing problems, have the courage to make the right decisions, or stay faithful to God amidst pressure. However, none of this happens overnight. A strong relationship with God is built through simple habits practiced faithfully—and prayer is one of them.

Daniel sets an extraordinary example. When the king issued a decree forbidding anyone from praying to God, Daniel did not alter his habits. He continued to come before God three times a day, just as he had always done. His faithfulness in prayer was not a knee-jerk reaction to a crisis, but the fruit of a long-established relationship. That is why Daniel remained steadfast, even when facing the threat of the lions’ den.

Rehobot Youth, we may not live in Babylon, but we face different pressures: busyness, social media, the demands of school or work, and various distractions that slowly pull us away from God. Prayer is often the first thing sacrificed when our schedules get packed. Yet, it is precisely within that routine that we need an ever-deepening relationship with God. Prayer is not merely a place to ask for help, but a space to know God’s heart and be shaped by Him every day.

Therefore, Rehobot Youth, do not seek shortcuts in your spiritual life. Build the habit of coming to God daily—whether life feels easy or is filled with struggles. Faithfulness in prayer may seem simple, but it is there that God shapes your character, strengthens your faith, and prepares you to face every challenge. A steadfast faith during times of trial is usually built through faithful prayer during ordinary days.

What To Do?
1. Build a consistent habit of coming to God, not depending on your mood.
2. Take time to be grateful, listen to the Word, and surrender your life to Him.
3. Keep building a relationship with God amidst busyness and pressure.
