Connected Hearts

Romans 12:10
“Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves.”

Hi, Rehobot Youth! We live in an age where connecting with many people feels incredibly easy. With just a single follow, chat, or like, we can connect with anyone. However, having many connections doesn’t necessarily mean having quality relationships. Healthy relationships require love, care, respect, and a heart that’s willing to be present for others.

Paul teaches us to love one another as brothers and sisters and to show honor to one another. This means that our relationships with others shouldn’t be built solely on the benefits we gain. Love that comes from God teaches us to value others, listen attentively, show care, and treat them as precious individuals in God’s sight.

Rehobot Youth, as we build relationships, we will inevitably encounter people with different personalities, backgrounds, and ways of thinking. It’s not uncommon for these differences to lead to misunderstandings or conflicts. This is where we need the Holy Spirit’s help. He shapes our hearts so that we are not controlled by our egos, but learn to respond with patience, humility, and forgiveness. Relationships led by the Holy Spirit do not mean we never experience conflict, but that we know how to handle conflict in a way that reflects Christ.

Therefore, Rehobot Youth, don’t just pursue a large number of connections; instead, build relationships that bring Christ’s love. Start with simple things: be there when someone needs you, listen without rushing to judge, respect differences, and offer words of encouragement. A heart connected to God will learn to connect with others through genuine love.

What To Do?
1. Listen to understand and show care.
2. Respect others, even if their character, opinions, or backgrounds differ.
3. Ask the Holy Spirit to help you love, forgive, and respond like Christ.
