Today’s devotional is titled:
Choosing God’s Purpose

“Then he said, “I am the God of your father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob.” At this, Moses hid his face, because he was afraid to look at God.” — Exodus 3:6

Moses once lived in the comfort of the Egyptian palace. He had status, education, and a secure life. But everything changed when Moses encountered God through the burning bush. That encounter transformed his perspective on life. Moses began to understand that God’s purpose is far more important than worldly comfort.

The world often leads people to believe that the best life is the one that is most comfortable, safe, and full of pleasure. That is why many people are afraid to step out of their comfort zone or fear losing the world’s approval. Yet, God’s calling often leads a person out of their comfort zone to pursue a greater purpose.

After meeting God, Moses no longer lived solely for himself. He chose to obey God even though the path was not easy. Moses learned that a life led by God may be full of processes and challenges, but it holds a far deeper meaning than mere temporary comfort.

Rehobot Youth, knowing the living God will change the way we view the world. God does not call us merely to live comfortably, but to live for His purpose. When we choose to walk with God, we will discover that a life used by God is far more valuable than all the comforts of the world.

What to Do?
• Evaluate: Have you been pursuing comfort or God’s purpose?
• Learn to step out of your comfort zone when God leads your life.
• Build a relationship with God so that your perspective continues to be transformed by Him.
