Calm Together with God

Numbers 11:14-15
“I cannot carry all these people by myself; the burden is too heavy for me. If this is how you are going to treat me, please go ahead and kill me—if I have found favor in your eyes—and do not let me face my own ruin.”

Hi, Rehobot Youth! Have you ever felt like all your responsibilities came at once? School or college assignments, goals you need to achieve, ministry, family problems, and even friendship drama can make you feel overwhelmed. In front of others, you seem fine, but deep down you’re thinking, “I can’t take it anymore.” Moses was once at that point. Leading the Israelites, who were constantly grumbling, made him feel so exhausted that he honestly poured out his heart to God.

Interestingly, God didn’t rebuke Moses for his honesty. God understood his limitations. Instead of letting Moses carry the burden all by himself, God provided seventy elders to help him lead the Israelites. From this story, we learn that God never intended for us to carry all our burdens alone. He is the God who provides help, wisdom, and people to walk alongside us.

Rehobot Youth, we often feel we must always be strong so as not to disappoint others. Yet, admitting that we’re tired isn’t a sign of weakness—it’s an act of humility. God doesn’t demand that we be “superheroes” capable of handling everything on our own. He invites us to come to Him, lay down the burdens we carry, and receive new strength from Him. In God’s presence, a heart weighed down by stress can find peace once again.

Therefore, Rehobot Youth, if you’re feeling overwhelmed today, don’t keep it all bottled up inside. Learn from Moses, who came to God with honesty. Trust that God is able to help you, give you wisdom to face every problem, and bring people into your life who can support you. With God by your side, you no longer have to carry that heavy burden alone.

What To Do?
1. Be honest with God about your burdens.
2. Learn to accept help.
3. Entrust every responsibility to God.
