So, actually, being perfect like the Father means building a frequency in harmony with Him. If our frequency can match His, that is an eternal achievement. We can see a woman who, to stay youthful, is willing to do facial treatments every two weeks, each lasting up to three hours. But when she is in church—which doesn’t even last three hours, only about two—she already complains and looks for reasons to postpone. Yet she still wants to enter heaven. What kind of heaven? How cheap God is in her mind. Our eternal achievement is when the Word breaks our hearts. A person can become suddenly wealthy—win the lottery or a big tender—but spiritual maturity and a frequency aligned with God cannot happen overnight. Therefore, for those of us past youth, don’t delay changing. Don’t wait too long, because we don’t know if we still have time to pursue it.
Thus, a child of God who always walks with God can be in tune and in dialogue with Him. Why can this happen? Because they have a balanced quality of life. Therefore, our heart must be pure, our life must be pure, and even our associations must be pure. If our life is filthy, God is displeased. That means the holy angels are likewise unwilling to associate with us who carry an evil spirit. If we want to be perfect like the Father, our frequency must align with God’s. Even when it comes to unnecessary spectacles, don’t watch them. If that entertainment makes our life wrong, then discard it.
If we want to enter the atmosphere as children of God, then we must dare to live extremely. After all, our life on earth is short. Nevertheless, we can still live happily. Therefore, be grateful if, from youth, you have already heard this truth. As we age, we will become more sensitive, like a satellite dish increasingly able to catch frequencies from heaven.
John 17:20–21 says, “And I do not pray for these only, but also for those who will believe in Me through their word; that they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us.” The phrase “in Us” points to a fellowship in the Father. Perhaps today, we feel there is no difference between those who are earnest and those who are not earnest in following the Lord. But one day it will be proven how blessed we are if we are earnest in the Lord. Therefore, let us all seek the Lord seriously. That is why the Lord desires that we have the mind and feelings also found in Christ Jesus. Why did the Lord say we must be perfect like the Father and not like Himself? There are a few possible answers.
The most likely possibility is that Jesus had not yet completed His work at that time. He had not yet proven obedience unto death, even death on the cross. After He finished everything, He became the source of salvation for all who obey Him. So, to be like the Father means to be like the Lord Jesus. Jesus Himself said, “He who has seen Me has seen the Father.” That means the life of Jesus is what we must emulate, and that is what it means to be like the Father. The question for all of us: has our life become a reflection of the life of the Lord Jesus?
