Today’s Devotional Title:
Block the Bitterness

See to it that no one falls short of the grace of God and that no bitter root grows up to cause trouble and defile many. Hebrews 12:15

Ever felt like your heart got “poisoned” by hurt or disappointment? Bitterness doesn’t always come from coffee sometimes it comes from wounds we’ve been holding onto for too long. The problem is, bitterness is sneaky. It can slowly ruin relationships, dry up your joy, and even pull you away from God. Hebrews 12:15 gives a clear warning: don’t let a “bitter root” grow in your heart, because it can damage many people. The solution? Block bitterness from the start. That doesn’t mean pretending you’re not hurt it means bringing your wounds to God and letting Him heal them. Jesus never promised that life would be free from pain, but He did promise that His peace will guard our hearts. And when our hearts are guarded, bitterness won’t have the chance to grow.

What to Do:
1. Recognize the Bitterness (Notice when anger, resentment, or jealousy starts to grow. Don’t deny it)
2. Pray It Out (Bring all the bitterness to God. He can turn it into peace)
3. Keep Good Company (Stay close to people who encourage you to stay spiritually and emotionally healthy)
