Be Grateful and Praise the Lord
“Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” – 1 Thessalonians 5:18
In the Bible, there’s a story about Paul and Silas. When they were sharing the Good News, they were arrested and thrown into prison. Their bodies were beaten, their feet were chained, and they sat in a cold, dark cell. But what did they do? Instead of complaining or getting angry, they prayed and sang hymns to God.
Then suddenly, an earthquake shook the prison! The chains fell off, and the doors swung open. Their thankful hearts brought a miracle.
Truth Juniors, how about you? When your day doesn’t go as planned—like when it rains while you want to play outside, your lunch spills, or you get a bad grade—what do you do? Do you complain, get upset, or still choose to be grateful?
Being grateful doesn’t mean we pretend to be happy. It means we choose to believe that God is good, even in tough times. Gratitude makes our hearts calmer and stronger.
When you are thankful, you bring light into the world. Your friends might wonder, “How can you still smile?” And you can say, “Because I believe God is always with me.”
So, Truth Juniors, let’s fill our days with praise, not complaints. Today, try to list three small things you can be thankful for. Then, say “Thank You” to God. Gratitude makes the world a warmer place, and God is pleased when His children give thanks—even when life isn’t perfect.
