Asking, Not Forcing

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.”
📖 Philippians 4:6

Guys, prayer is supposed to be a place of encounter, not a place of demands. But honestly, sometimes without realizing it, our prayers turn into a wishlist that must be fulfilled immediately. If it hasn’t happened yet, we get disappointed. If God hasn’t answered, we get angry.

Being diligent in prayer doesn’t always mean our hearts are surrendered. It’s possible our mouths are praying, but our mindset is pressuring God with our own timeline and our own way.

God isn’t against requests. He wants us to be honest. But He also wants us to come with a heart that trusts, not one that forces. Healthy prayer is always accompanied by gratitude, because gratitude helps us remember that God knows what is best—even when His answer isn’t what we want yet.

When we pray with a surrendered heart instead of demanding, our relationship with God becomes alive. We no longer come as customers collecting on a promise, but as children who trust their Father.

What To Do:
1. Check the content of your prayers: is it more demands, or more trust?
2. Include thanksgiving in every prayer, even when the answer isn’t visible yet.
3. Learn to say: “God, Your will is better than my desires.”
