Today’s Devotional Title:
Anti-Baper Mindset: Criticism Doesn’t Mean Hate

“Better is open rebuke than hidden love.”
— Proverbs 27:5

Many young people immediately feel “attacked” when their ideas are criticized or their behavior is corrected. Yet, we need to learn to distinguish three important things: criticism is input for personal growth, differences of opinion are simply about perspective, and personal rejection is about hatred. Not everyone who disagrees with you is against you—often, they’re just seeing things from a different angle.

Spiritual maturity is shown through a heart that is not easily defensive. Those who grow are not shaped by constant praise, but by the courage to receive correction without taking offense. Honest correction is actually a sign of care, while empty praise often causes us to stop growing.

When our faith is deeply rooted in God’s love, human opinions no longer shake our inner peace so easily. Criticism no longer feels like a threat, but becomes an opportunity to grow. Having an anti-baper mindset isn’t about being indifferent—it’s about having a secure heart, knowing that our identity is not defined by people’s opinions, but by God’s unchanging love.

What to Do?
1. Receive feedback with an open heart—don’t immediately feel discouraged.
2. Practice positive thinking; it’s a powerful tool to calm your mind and avoid negative emotions.
3. Commit to becoming spiritually mature—in thoughts, words, and actions.
