Today’s devotional is titled:
An Open Heart and Ears

Acts 16:14–15
“One of those listening was a woman from the city of Thyatira named Lydia, a dealer in purple cloth. She was a worshiper of God. The Lord opened her heart to respond to Paul’s message. When she and the members of her household were baptized, she invited us to her home. ‘If you consider me a believer in the Lord,’ she said, ‘come and stay at my house.’ And she persuaded us.”

Truth Kids friends, have you ever tried to open a door that was really hard to unlock? It’s so frustrating, right? But when the door is open, everyone can come in easily. In the Bible, there was a woman named Lydia. She had an open heart—not just the door of her house, but also her ears when she heard the message about Jesus. When Paul shared the Gospel, Lydia believed right away and even offered her home to serve the Lord.

Lydia didn’t wait to become famous before being used by God. She started with what she had: her home and her willing heart. God used that willingness to become a great blessing for many people. Just like Lydia, we can also learn to open our hearts to Jesus—by sharing our toys, helping mom at home, or being a friend to someone who feels alone.

Lydia’s story reminds us: an open heart will always be used by God for great things. So come on, Truth Kids friends, are you willing to open your heart like Lydia?
