Today’s devotional is titled:
An Offering of Great Value
Luke 21:4
“All these people gave their gifts out of their wealth; but she out of her poverty put in all she had to live on.”
In the temple courts, people came one after another to give their offerings. Some walked in carrying large bags full of coins, making loud clanging noises as they poured them into the offering box. Everyone’s eyes turned to them. Then came a poor widow. Her clothes were simple, her steps slow. She held only two small coins, something that might have looked worthless to others. But Jesus watched her with love. He knew she was giving from her heart, not to show off, and that she was giving all she had, even though it was little.
Truth Junior friends, in God’s eyes, what matters is not how much we give but the sincerity of our hearts. Sometimes we think God only values large offerings. But in truth, He delights in a heart that gives willingly, even if it’s small, as long as it comes from love.
For example, maybe you can’t give much money to church, but you can give a toy to a child in an orphanage, share your lunch with a friend who forgot theirs, or set aside time to help your parents at home. All these can be “offerings” to God.
Remember, God’s great mission often begins with small steps done in love. He sees and values every gift that comes from the heart. Even something that seems small to us can mean so much to someone else. So, don’t hesitate to give your best, even if it seems simple, because in God’s hands, it can become an extraordinary blessing.
