A Wise Heart in Every Choice

Ephesians 5:15
“Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise,”

Hi, Rehobot Youth! Every day we make many choices, including when using technology. Which app to open, what content to watch, whose accounts to follow, how to respond to comments, and even how long we’ll spend scrolling. It may seem simple, but these small choices can influence our thoughts, time, habits, and even our spiritual lives.

Paul reminds us to be careful how we live. This means we aren’t called to live carelessly or simply follow whatever is trending. We need the wisdom to consider whether what we’re doing brings us closer to God or, on the contrary, slowly distances us from Him. This principle also applies to how we use technology.

Rehobot Youth, a life led by the Holy Spirit teaches us to use technology with self-control. Not everything that goes viral needs to be followed, not all content needs to be watched, and not every opinion needs to be commented on immediately. The Holy Spirit helps us have the wisdom to choose what is edifying, to know when to stop, and to use our time responsibly. We do not let technology control our lives, but use it as a tool for the right purposes.

Technology can also be a means to reflect the character of Christ. We can use it to learn, create, encourage others, share uplifting content, and make a positive impact. Therefore, Rehobot Youth, be wise in every digital choice you make. Don’t let algorithms, trends, or fleeting desires dictate the direction of your life. Living wisely means realizing that the choices we make—including in the digital world—should always remain under God’s guidance.

What To Do?
1. Evaluate whether technology is building up your life or dominating your time and thoughts.
2. Choose digital content and activities that are edifying, and let go of those that do not bring about good.
3. Ask the Holy Spirit for wisdom and self-control so that your choices align with God’s will.
