Today’s devotional is titled:
A Second Chance
Judges 16:28
“Then Samson prayed to the Lord, ‘Sovereign Lord, remember me. Please, God, strengthen me just once more, and let me with one blow get revenge on the Philistines for my two eyes.’”
Truth Junior Friends, have you ever had something you were proud of, but forgot to stay humble? Samson was given great strength by God to fight the enemies of his people, the Philistines. But he didn’t take care of that gift and disobeyed God. In the end, Samson lost his strength and was captured by his enemies. He felt sorry and prayed, “Lord, please strengthen me once more.” God heard his prayer and restored his strength. With it, Samson defeated the Philistines and helped his people.
Dika also had a special talent—a beautiful singing voice. He loved singing praise songs at church, and many friends admired him. But over time, Dika became proud. He got lazy about practicing, rarely went to church, and started singing just to get attention.
One day, Dika joined a singing competition, but his voice cracked and went off-key. He felt embarrassed and sad, even thinking that God no longer wanted to use him. That night, Dika prayed sincerely, “Lord, I’m sorry. I want to sing for You, not for myself.” After that, he started practicing again with humility. His voice got better, and this time, he sang to glorify God.
Truth Junior Friends, God has given each of us special talents—maybe singing, dancing, drawing, or helping others. Use them all for God’s glory. And if we ever make mistakes, don’t be afraid to repent and ask for forgiveness. God always gives us a second chance, just like He did for Samson and Dika.
