Today’s Devotional:
A Life That Impacts the World
“Therefore, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, I urge you to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God, this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.” – Romans 12:1–2
Let’s be real when it’s your birthday, you probably hope for gifts, good vibes, and maybe a few Insta stories tagging you. But what about Jesus? What does He want for His birthday?
Sadie Robertson Huff, a Christian speaker and influencer loved by Gen Z, once shared that the best gift we can give Jesus is a surrendered heart. Not just singing worship songs, but actually living out what we sing. She’s known for saying, “Live original” meaning live boldly for Christ, not just blending in.
Micah 6:8 lays out Jesus’ wishlist: justice, mercy, and humility. He’s not asking for a party. He’s asking for a life that reflects His love. Sadie’s viral talks remind us that faith isn’t just a Sunday thing it’s a daily choice to be kind when it’s hard, to stand up for others, and to stay humble even when we’re praised.
So this Christmas, instead of stressing about gifts or FOMO, let’s ask: What kind of life am I offering Jesus? Because the best birthday gift isn’t wrapped it’s lived.
✅ What to Do?
1. Choose one way to show mercy today. Maybe forgive someone who annoyed you, or send a kind message to a friend who’s been distant. Mercy is love in action.
2. Write down one area where you want to grow in humility. Ask God to help you this week whether it’s being less reactive, more teachable, or giving credit to others.
