Today’s devotional is titled:
A Heart That Seeks God
You, God, are my God, earnestly I seek you; I thirst for you, my whole being longs for you, in a dry and parched land where there is no water. — Psalm 63:1
David was a man who faced many difficult situations in his life. He faced threats, rejection, loneliness, and even heavy pressure. Yet, amidst all that, one thing remained constant in David’s life: his heart continued to pursue God.
This psalm shows that David didn’t just know God in theory. He had a close and real relationship with God. David longed for God’s presence like dry ground needing water. This describes a deep longing—not just a routine spiritual practice.
Often we are so busy with school, ministry, social media, or life goals that, without realizing it, our hearts begin to drift away from God. We may still attend worship services and engage in spiritual activities, but we lose that thirst to truly seek God personally. Yet, knowing the living God begins with a heart that seeks Him every day.
Rehobot Youth, God wants to be known not just through others’ stories, but through your personal experiences with Him. When we truly pursue God, we will learn to feel His presence, hear His guidance, and experience His peace tangibly. So, don’t settle for merely knowing God from the outside—have a heart that remains thirsty for His presence, just like David.
What to Do?
• Set aside special time today to pray and speak personally with God.
• Reflect: Is your heart still thirsty and longing to seek God?
• Build a relationship with God not out of duty, but out of longing.
