A God Led Direction

Romans 8:14
“For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God.”

Hi, Rehobot Youth! Thinking about the future can be both exciting and confusing. There are many choices before us: school, college, careers, ministry, relationships, and even the dreams we wish to achieve. We can make the best plans possible, but the most important question isn’t just, “What do I want to become?” but rather, “Where does God want my life to be directed?”

God’s Word tells us that the children of God live under the guidance of the Spirit of God. This means we do not navigate life based solely on personal desires, pressure from others, or current trends. The Holy Spirit helps us understand the truth, shapes our desires, and directs our steps to align more closely with God’s will. Therefore, determining the direction of our lives is not merely about seeking the most promising option, but about learning to discern what pleases God.

Rehobot Youth, being led by the Holy Spirit doesn’t mean we always receive instant guidance regarding our major, our job, or every decision we need to make. We must build a relationship with God through prayer and His Word, exercise wisdom, and learn to obey the truth we already know. The closer we draw to God, the more our hearts and mindsets are shaped, enabling us to make decisions that reflect His values.

So, Rehobot Youth, it is fine to have dreams and to plan earnestly for the future. However, do not simply ask God to bless the plans you have already made. Make room for Him to direct, alter, or even halt your plans when necessary. A life led by the Holy Spirit is not about making God follow our path, but about learning to follow the path God desires.

What To Do?
1. Bring your plans, dreams, and decisions to God in prayer.
2. Ensure your choices align with God’s truth and will.
3. Ask the Holy Spirit for a sensitive and obedient heart when His direction differs from your own desires.
