A Drop of Water Can Become a Stream of Life
“Who dares despise the day of small things, since the seven eyes of the Lord that range throughout the earth will rejoice when they see the chosen capstone in the hand of Zerubbabel.”
— Zechariah 4:10
Ever feel like a drop of water in the middle of a vast ocean? Like all your efforts or prayers don’t seem to show any results? But did you know, a single drop can form a river, add power to a dam, or even create a rainbow when it catches the light? God never underestimates the small things even one small step you take can spark big change.
In Zechariah 4:10, God teaches us not to despise “the day of small things.” In fact, it is through these small things that He works and shapes us. One drop of water can refresh the thirsty. Just like one kind word can lift a discouraged friend, or one honest decision can be a light in a dark environment. You don’t have to be a “giant wave” — just be a drop that consistently shows up and makes a real impact.
Serving doesn’t have to be spectacular. Often, the most consistent and quiet acts touch the heart the deepest. When you post something uplifting, help a friend with homework, or silently pray for someone you see on IG — those are small drops that carry God’s love. And God celebrates every drop you give.
What to Do:
1. Choose one simple action today that can be a “drop of water” for someone — maybe offering encouragement, a small act of help, or a prayer. Do it sincerely.
2. Don’t wait to “become big” to serve. Start where you are, and make every day an opportunity to pour out God’s love in small but meaningful ways.
