Today’s devotional is entitled:
Rooted in His Word

Joshua 1:8
“Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.”

Hi, Rehobot Youth! Every journey needs a clear direction. Without guidance, we can lose our way or take the wrong path. The same is true in life. There are so many choices, opinions, and values offered by the world. Therefore, as children of God, we need His Word as the foundation that guides the way we think, make choices, and live our lives.

When God gave this command to Joshua, he was facing a new and challenging season. Moses had died, and Joshua had received the great responsibility of leading the Israelites into the Promised Land that God had given them. He certainly needed courage, but God also reminded him to continually meditate on and obey His Word. Joshua’s success did not depend only on his leadership abilities or strategies, but on his faithfulness to walk according to God’s will.

Rehobot Youth, meditating on God’s Word is not simply about reading a few verses and then forgetting them. God’s Word needs to be understood, treasured in our hearts, and put into practice in our daily lives. When God’s Word fills our minds, the way we see problems, treat others, face temptations, and make decisions will increasingly be shaped by God’s truth. Through this, we learn to recognize and obey His will.

As children of God, a life of obedience is not formed in one great moment. It is a process that we need to live out every day. Reading God’s Word when we feel motivated, continuing to seek it when we are busy, and choosing to obey it even when it is difficult are all part of that process. The more deeply we are rooted in God’s Word, the stronger our foundation becomes, enabling us to continue walking according to God’s will, whatever circumstances we may face.

So, Rehobot Youth, don’t open God’s Word only when you need an answer to a problem. Make God’s Word a part of your daily life. Allow God to shape your mind, character, and decisions through His truth. Our goal is not merely to know many Bible verses, but to live a life that increasingly reflects what God desires.

What To Do?
1. Set aside time every day to read and meditate on God’s Word.
2. Write down one truth that you get and put it into action that day.
3. Before making a decision, ask whether your choice is in accordance with the principles of God’s Word.
