Finding Life’s Purpose in God
Proverbs 19:21
“Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails.”
Hi, Rehobot Youth! Everyone surely has dreams and life goals. Some want to become doctors, entrepreneurs, teachers, artists, or athletes, or simply succeed in their chosen fields. Having aspirations is a good thing. However, have you ever asked, “Is my life’s purpose limited to achieving these dreams, or is there a greater purpose that God has prepared?” Let us not be so busy planning our future that we forget to involve God, the One who knows our future.
Many people rely on intellectual intelligence (IQ) to devise strategies and emotional intelligence (EQ) to build good relationships. While these are important, they are not enough to discover one’s true purpose in life. We need spiritual intelligence (SQ)—closeness to God—because only He knows the best plan for our lives. God’s wisdom helps us choose not just the path that looks good, but the path that aligns with His will.
Rehobot Youth, life’s purpose is not found merely by knowing oneself, but by getting to know God better. When we build a close relationship with Him through prayer, God’s Word, and obedience, the Holy Spirit grants us the wisdom to understand the direction He desires for our lives. We begin to see that life is not just about chasing success, but about becoming a person who glorifies God and blesses others through the talents, work, and opportunities He entrusts to us.
Therefore, Rehobot Youth, pursue your dreams earnestly, but let God be the Guide in every step you take. Build a strong spiritual life, for SQ serves as the foundation for both IQ and EQ. When God leads your life’s purpose, you do not merely pursue what you want, but also live out the calling God designed from the very beginning. That is where life finds true meaning.
What To Do?
1. Involve God in planning your future.
2. Cultivate closeness with God every day.
3. Prioritize God’s calling over personal ambition.
