Peace Beyond Feelings

Isaiah 26:3
“You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you.”

Hi, Rehobot Youth! Have you ever felt your emotions shift rapidly within a single day? You might start the morning full of enthusiasm for your activities, only to lose that spirit a few hours later due to piling assignments, hurtful words from a friend, or plans that didn’t go as expected. When that happens, we often let our feelings dictate how we think, speak, and act.

Having emotions is not wrong. Anger, sadness, disappointment, fear, or anxiety are all part of the human experience. However, God’s Word teaches us that we are not called to be led by our feelings, but by faith in God. Isaiah 26:3 tells us that God guards a steadfast heart with peace because that heart trusts in Him. True peace does not come from having all our problems resolved, but from keeping our hearts focused on the God who never changes.

Rehobot Youth, intellectual intelligence (IQ) helps us think logically, and emotional intelligence (EQ) helps us recognize and manage our emotions. Yet, both require a deeper foundation: spirituality (SQ)—a close relationship with God. When our hearts are anchored in Him, the Holy Spirit grants us the wisdom to respond to every situation according to God’s will, rather than simply following the impulse of our feelings. That is why believers can remain calm under pressure; God’s peace guards their hearts and minds.

Therefore, Rehobot Youth, do not let feelings be the compass of your life. Build a close relationship with God through prayer, His Word, and obedience to Him. The more you know God, the more you will learn to trust Him in every circumstance. When your heart remains focused on Him, God will fill your life with peace that transcends feelings and does not depend on circumstances.

What To Do?
1. Pause before reacting.
2. Build a spiritual life every day.
3. Trust every situation to God.
