Today’s devotional is titled:
A Moment’s Rest

Jeremiah 20:9
“But if I say, “I will not mention his word or speak anymore in his name,” his word is in my heart like a fire, a fire shut up in my bones. I am weary of holding it in; indeed, I cannot.”

Rehobot Youth, have you ever felt exhausted—not just physically, but also mentally and spiritually? Piling tasks, others’ expectations, family problems, conflicts with friends, or ministry that feels overwhelming can make our hearts want to give up. Jeremiah experienced the same thing. He was rejected, insulted, and even mocked for faithfully proclaiming God’s word. In his weariness, Jeremiah didn’t hide what he was feeling. He came to God honestly and poured out his heart.

Interestingly, in the midst of his struggles, Jeremiah realized that he could not leave God. God’s Word became like a fire that continued to burn within him. This shows that when our hearts remain attached to God, He will provide new strength to keep moving forward. That strength does not come from within ourselves, but from God who continues to work in our lives.

Imagine a marathon runner who pauses briefly at a refreshment station to drink and regain strength. He doesn’t stop because he’s giving up, but so he can finish the race. The same is true of our spiritual lives. Resting in the presence of God doesn’t mean stopping to follow Him, but rather making room for God to restore our hearts, strengthen our faith, and renew our spirits.

Rehobot Youth, if you’re feeling tired today, don’t keep it all bottled up inside. Come to God honestly, just like Jeremiah did. He is able to receive every tear, every complaint, and every struggle you face. When you rest in His presence, God will give you new strength so you can rise up and continue your journey with Him.

What To Do?
1. Set aside 5–10 minutes of quiet time today without your phone—just you and God.
2. Write in a journal or notebook: the things that are wearing you down, then surrender them to God in prayer.
3. Remind yourself: rest isn’t a failure, but part of the journey.
