Worshipping God in the Digital World
“Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity.” – 1 Timothy 4:12
Rehobot Youth, much of our interaction today takes place in the digital world. We spend time sending messages, creating content, watching videos, or interacting via social media. We often mistakenly think that spiritual life is limited to church activities. However, God desires for us to be His worshippers wherever we are—including when we are active in the digital world.
In his letter to Timothy, Paul reminds us that young people are called to be examples. Notably, this example begins with our speech, conduct, love, faithfulness, and purity. This principle is highly relevant to our digital lives today. What we write, upload, comment on, and share reveals our character to others. The digital world is one of the places where our faith can be visibly demonstrated.
Rehobot Youth, social media can be a powerful tool for positive influence. We can share uplifting content, encourage friends who are struggling, spread values of truth, and even bear witness to Christ through the content we create. Conversely, without wisdom, social media can become a breeding ground for hurtful words, unhealthy arguments, or the habit of seeking human approval rather than pleasing God.
Therefore, let us learn to make the digital world a part of our worship to God. When we choose to guard our words, show love, respect others, and use social media wisely, we demonstrate that Christ lives within us. Worship is not just about what we do on Sundays, but about how we represent God every day—including behind the screens of the devices we use.
