God Is at Work
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
— Jeremiah 29:11
Waiting is never easy. We might joyfully accept a “yes,” and even a “no” can sometimes be understood. Yet, what often drains the heart is when God seems to give no answer at all. We pray, but circumstances remain unchanged. We hope, but the door we are waiting for has not yet opened. In such situations, many begin to think that God has forgotten them.
However, a delay does not necessarily mean a denial. A farmer who plants a seed does not see the results the very next day. On the surface, the soil looks ordinary. Yet beneath the surface, the seed is establishing roots that will sustain its growth. It is the same with our lives. When no visible change occurs, it does not mean God is not at work. Often, it is precisely during those quiet times that God is preparing something greater.
Joseph experienced this same thing. After receiving a dream from God, his life was actually filled with hardship. He was sold into slavery, falsely accused, and imprisoned. Yet, all those processes turned out to be part of God’s plan to make him a leader in Egypt and save many people. What appeared to be a delay was actually God’s preparation.
Rehobot Youth, if you are waiting for an answer to prayer today, do not rush to conclude that God is saying “no.” It could be that God is saying, “not yet.” God sees what we do not see and is shaping us through the process we are undergoing. Keep trusting, for God is never late and never stops working in the lives of His children.
What To Do?
• Remain faithful even though you haven’t yet seen the results of your prayers.
• Focus on the process God is working out in your life.
• Do not give up on continuing to pray and place your hope in God.
