From Weakness to Strength

“Then the disciple whom Jesus loved said to Peter, “It is the Lord!” As soon as Simon Peter heard him say, “It is the Lord,” he wrapped his outer garment around him (for he had taken it off) and jumped into the water.” — John 21:7

Hi, Rehobot Youth! Have you ever felt like such a failure that you lost confidence? Maybe you promised to change, but fell back into old habits. Have you ever wanted to live righteously, but still succumbed to temptation? Everyone has weaknesses. But the good news is, God is able to turn weakness into strength.

Peter was a passionate disciple, but he also failed miserably. He denied Jesus three times out of fear. Yet after Jesus’ resurrection, He came back to Peter and restored him. God did not cast Peter aside because of his failure. In fact, through his encounter with the living God, Peter was transformed from a fearful man into a courageous leader.

Sometimes we also feel we aren’t strong enough to face pressure from friends, our environment, or sin that keeps recurring. But when we come to God, we learn that true strength doesn’t come from ourselves, but from the God who is with us. The living God is able to use a life that has fallen to become a testimony for others.

Rehobot Youth, don’t stop just because you’ve failed before. Peter proved that God can transform a weak life into a strong one. You are made for more—called not to live in fear, but to be a witness that God is able to restore and use your life.

What to Do?
• Acknowledge your weaknesses before God and don’t pretend to be strong.
• Believe that God is able to restore and transform your life.
• Use your experiences to encourage and lead your friends to God.
