Today’s devotional is titled:
Trusted by God in Youth
“Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity.” — 1 Timothy 4:12
Timothy was a young man whom God trusted to serve alongside Paul. Although he was still young, Timothy was not called to live carelessly. Instead, Paul encouraged him to be an example through his words, conduct, love, faith, and purity.
Often, young people feel they are not yet worthy to be used by God. Some think they are still too young to make an impact or be a blessing to others. However, through Timothy’s life, we learn that God does not look at age first, but at a heart willing to be shaped and used by Him.
Timothy came to know the living God through his personal relationship with Him. That relationship shaped his courage and character. Therefore, even though he was young, he was still entrusted with a great mission. The world may judge by popularity or achievements, but God looks at faithfulness and a life lived righteously.
Rehobot Youth, don’t underestimate your youth. God can use your life today as well. When you live close to God and maintain a life of holiness, God can entrust great things through your life.
What to Do?
• Believe that God can use your life even from a young age.
• Be an example through your daily words and actions.
