Different Gifts, the Same Holy Spirit
“See, I have chosen Bezalel son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah, and I have filled him with the Spirit of God, with wisdom, with understanding, with knowledge and with all kinds of skills,”— Exodus 31:2–3
Hi, Rehobot Youth! Have you ever felt insecure because you don’t have the same skills as your friends? Some are musically talented, good at math, or creative at making content. Sometimes we compare ourselves to others, even though God gives different gifts to each person.
In the Bible, there are Bezalel and Aholiab. They weren’t prophets or kings, but God gave them the gift of artistry and manual skill. With those talents, they built the Tabernacle—the place where the Israelites worshiped God. Their gifts might seem simple, but they were used with a holy heart to serve God.
This means not everyone has to have the same gifts. What matters most isn’t how impressive our talents are, but whether we use them to live righteously before God. If you have design skills, use them for ministry. If you’re a good speaker, use your gift to encourage friends. A gift becomes a blessing when used with a pure and sincere heart.
So, Rehobot Youth, don’t feel inferior or envious of others. You were created for greater things with unique gifts. God doesn’t look at who is the greatest, but at who is faithful and holy in using the gifts He has given. Let’s learn from Bezaleel and Aholiab: use your gifts with a pure heart for God’s glory.
What to Do?
• Be grateful for the gifts God has given you, even if they’re different from your friends’.
• Live a holy life so that those gifts are used properly.
• Use your talents to serve, not just to show off.
