Standing Firm When Everything Shakes

Colossians 2:7
Rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.

Rehobot Youth, life isn’t always stable. There are times when everything feels secure, but there are also times when everything changes suddenly. Plans fail, hopes crumble, and we slowly begin to lose our way.

On the outside, we may still appear strong. We can still smile, still say, “I’m fine.” But inside, our hearts are starting to crack. We’re tired, afraid, confused—we don’t even know what to do. At that point, an important question arises: What am I standing on?

God’s Word reminds us to have roots. It’s not just about looking strong, but truly being grounded. Because what seems solid isn’t necessarily strong. We rely on many things—people’s judgments, achievements, feelings—but everything can change at any time. And when they do, we falter.

But if our lives are rooted in God, storms may come—we may falter, but we won’t fall. Because there’s something holding us up. Those roots aren’t formed in comfort. Rather, they’re formed through uncomfortable experiences: failure, loss, and pressure. That’s where the depth of faith is formed.

So don’t measure strength by what you see. Because what determines whether we stand firm isn’t how strong we appear, but how deeply we are grounded in God.

What To Do?
• Be honest with yourself—admit when you’re tired.
• Build your life on God; it’s not something that changes easily.
• Persevere in the process, even if it’s slow.
