Wounds Become Leaders

Judges 11:7
So Jephthah said to the elders of Gilead, “Did you not hate me, and expel me from my father’s house? Why have you come to me now when you are in distress?”

Rehobot Youth, wounds from family feel different. They’re deeper. They’re more painful. Especially if you feel misunderstood, unheard, or even rejected. Jephthah experienced this too—he wasn’t just misunderstood, but actually cast out.

As a human being, it’s natural for him to become bitter. But God has a bigger story. In fact, the person who was once rejected was used by God to become a leader. The wounds that were once painful turned out to be a process that shaped him.

Sometimes we don’t realize that conflict at home is shaping us. It trains us to be patient, self-controlled, and learn to see from a more mature perspective. Wounds are unpleasant, but in God’s hands, they can become a source of growth.

God doesn’t abandon you just because you’ve been hurt. In fact, He can use that experience to make you stronger and ready for something greater.

And one important thing: healing doesn’t mean pretending you’re not hurt. Healing means being honest, but also opening your heart to the process of reconciliation.

What To Do?
• Be honest with God about the hurt you feel.
• Don’t let the hurt turn into bitterness.
• Try to build communication with a calmer heart.
