Today’s devotional is titled:
Rejected, But Still Chosen
Genesis 50:20
But as for you, you meant evil against me; but God meant it for good, in order to bring it about as it is this day, to save many people alive.
Rehobot Youth, rejection and bullying hurt. Being belittled, shunned, or made the object of ridicule can make us feel worthless. Sometimes we even start to believe what others say about us.
Joseph was also in that position. He was rejected by his own brothers, sold, hurt, and treated unfairly. But at the end of his story, Joseph saw something bigger: God was still at work behind it all. What others intended to tear down, God can use to shape us.
Rejection can be a place where God builds a stronger identity—not from people, but from Him. Bullying can be a process that trains resilience, shapes character, and makes us more sensitive to others who are hurt. This doesn’t mean it’s right or justified. But it does mean the hurt is not in vain.
God never loses control of your life. Even in the most painful moments, He is weaving something bigger than what you see now. So don’t let rejection define who you are. Because it’s not other people who determine your identity—it’s God.
What To Do?
• Be honest with God about the pain you’re experiencing.
• Reject negative lies and embrace the truth about your identity.
• Believe: God can turn hurt into strength.
